Description

Join staff from NCRS-NJ and NOFA-NJ on a certified organic farm and learn the basics of soil quality and its relationship to crop and livestock health. NRCS Specialists Kaitlin Farbotnik and Fred Schoenagel and NOFA-NJ’s Mark Keating will discuss organic soil management and demonstrate easy to use tools for testing soil fertility. In addition to the training, you’ll receive your own Soil Health Bucket containing these simple tools you can use to conduct an assessment of your own farm’s soil. Valued at over $100, the Soil Health Bucket includes tests for pH , phosphorous and soil respiration along with additional resources such as pH availability charts and a soil health assessment card. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn the basics of organic soil management and start monitoring progress on your own farm.
